At least eight die in Sunkoshi bus plunge

SINDHUPALCHOWK: At least eight persons died when a passenger bus met with an accident in Sindhupalchowk district on Sunday.


The accident occurred when the ill-fated bus en route to Kathmandu from Maga Deurali area of Dolakha skidded off the highway at Sukute area and plunged into Sunkoshi River.

The police have recovered the dead bodies of a girl and four women from the river banks. Police have intensified the rescue operation following the incident. 


According to Sub Inspector of Police at Maga Deurali Prakash Pandey, the bus had left for Kathmandu at 9 am today with 34 passengers. The details of the incident are awaited.
