Armed gang target Avenues TV journalist

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: An armed group wielding khukuris (machete) and swords barged into the residence of journalist Kedar Koirala at Shantinagar area in the capital Saturday evening and allegedly attempted to pounce upon him. Koirala, who is associated with Avenues TV, is unhurt as he managed to lock the main gate of his house from inside. Talking to myrepublica.com over phone, he said the armed gang fled the scene soon after he called local police at about 5:45 pm. The same group had reached his residence on Friday evening too asking if a person called Dinesh lived in the house. “This is a deliberate attempt to attack me,” he claimed. A large number of journalists had reached his residence to learn about the incident.
