KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Armed Police Force (APF) has established Help Desks at 122 locations and Health Desks at 33 places across the country to prevent untoward activities during the nearing Dashain, Tihar and Chhat festivals.
APF Spokesperson SSP Rajendra Khadka shared that the 120 Help Desk were set up in places bordering India while two such desks were established in places bordering China.
Likewise, Health Desks were set up at 30 places on the side bordering India and three with China, explained Spokesperson Khadka. According to him, the Help Desks and Health Desks were set up in coordination and cooperation with security personnel of India and China in view of the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhat festivals to facilitate the citizens in border points for their safe and easy movement as well as to rescue those in emergency situation.

The Help Desks were established in 25 places under the Baraha Battalion at Pakali in Sunsari district, 53 under the Chinnamasta Battalion in Mahottari district, two under the Gadhimai Battalion in Makawanpur district, two under Muktinath Battalion in Kaski district, 19 under Bindhyabasini Battalion in Rupandehi district, one under Maheshwori Battalion in Surkhet district and 20 under Baidhyanath Battalion in Kailali district.
Similarly, the Health Desks were set up in bordering places in Mahottari, Rupandehi, Sunsari, Saptari, and Kailali districts. More such desks will be established in other places if need be, said Khadka.
This move is aimed at protecting citizens traveling through the border points, preventing incidents like illegal activities such as smuggling and criminal activities such as robbery during the festivals.
Furthermore, the desks have also been set up to help the citizens in medical emergencies.
