Anti-poll activists set two vehicles on fire in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: Two vehicles belonging to Constituent Assembly (CA) candidates were set on fire by suspected anti-poll activists here in Dhapasi and Lazimpat on Monday morning.



A vehicle (Ba 6 cha 419) used by Narahari Acharya, Nepali Congress (NC) CA candidate from Kathmandu Constituency-5, was torched near Dhapasi Krishna Mandir this morning.[break]



An unidentified motorbike-borne men torched while it was being parked there before heading for door-to-door campaigns.



Similarly, a vehicle belonging to UML CA candidate from Dhanding-3, Rajendra Prasad Pande was also set on fire by an unidentified group here in north gate of Narahinti Museum this morning.



A motorbike-borne gang threw the flame of fire at the vehicle parked there. They fled the scene chanting slogans against UML after carrying out the crime.



According to Hemanta Pal, Spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Office, the incidents have caused minor damages to the vehicles.



Police said that it has launched manhunt to nab the culprits.



Pal also urged the candidates to abide by their suggestions while conducting the election campaigns.
