Speaking at a programme organized by ANNISU-R in Pokhara on Monday, Neupane said the students will launch protest programmes as the HSEB failed to implement the 13-point pact between the students unions and the HSEB in the past.[break]
He said though the HSEB agreed not to provide permission to open private higher secondary schools in municipal areas, to transfer the schools or change their names, among other demands, it failed to implement the agreement.
Neupane said the protest was a compulsion for the union as the education has been commercialized rather than making it service-oriented after the phase-out of PCL degree from the Tribhuvan University.
He alleged CTEVT of involving in financial irregularities, citing it has provided permission to run nursing campuses though the colleges do not fulfill the necessary requirements.
He also demanded scrapping the permission granted to such colleges that do not have 50-bed hospital of their own, saying it is against the law.
He warned of disrupting the entrance exam in nursing campuses that will be held on August 27 and 28 if the decision to give permission to such colleges was not revoked.
