ANFA apologizes to journos

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has apologized to the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) on Wednesday for misbehaving with sports journalists.



 Security guards of Garud Securities deployed by ANFA at the Dasharath Stadium had misbehaved with sports journalists on the inaugural day of the AFC U-16 Group C Qualifiers on September 25. NSJF had submitted a memorandum to National Sports Council (NSJF) after the event. [break]



ANFA apologized to NSJF after a joint meeting with NSJF and NSC on Wednesday. Issuing a statement, ANFA has vowed to create favorable environment for reporting in any domestic or international tournaments, punish the guilty of the incident and to train security guards to ensure such incidents do not occur in future. The meeting was attended by NSJF representatives, ANFA President Ganesh Thapa and NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama, among others.
