SARLAHI, July 22: Police have arrested three people, including an Indian national, for forging documents to obtain a Nepali citizenship certificate.

Mohan Kapar, a resident of Pipara-6 in Mahottari, Baijanath Kapar, a resident of Aurahi-3 in the same district, and Raj Kumar Kapar, a permanent resident of Mujjafurpur in India, have been arrested for forging Raj Kumar´s birth certificate to acquire a Nepali citizenship certificate.

Mohan, whose elder sister is married to Raj Kumar, had tried to get a Nepali citizenship certificate by producing him before the local administration as his father-in-law Baijanath´s son. [break]

Their plot was exposed after the local authorities smelt a rat - some vital information were missing on Raj Kumar´s birth certificate.

As the authorities launched a probe, Mohan revealed that Raj Kumar needed a Nepali citizenship certificate to go for overseas employment, according to Police Inspector Dipak Giri.

They are now in the custody of Area Police Office, Gaushala in Mahottari.
