KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The police have arrested an Indian citizen on the charge of being involved in forging his citizenship certificate and other government documents. He was arrested by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi said that the arrested person is Jagga Prasad Jaiswal alias Jagga Chaudhary, who has obtained a citizenship certificate from Saik Sarmujwa ward 9, Rautahat. Police said he is a permanent resident of East Champaran-10, Bihar, India.
When will these Nepali citizens get citizenship certificates?
According to SP Regmi, in the course of the investigation of the crime related to citizenship and documents, including Jaiswal, Chaudhary obtained Nepali citizenship by submitting false information in the year 2063 when the citizenship making team was deployed on the spot.
Similarly, the police said that after obtaining citizenship, he has been doing business in various places in Nepal. Police have also recovered an Indian Aadhaar card in the name of Jagga Chaudhary and driver's license in the name of Jagga Prasad Jaiswal.
SP Regmi said that Jaiswal has been sent to District Police Office Rautahat for necessary investigation and action against citizenship and document related offenses.
