All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Roots Fashion Private Limited, the authorized dealer of Adidas Nepal inked the deal to this effect on Thursday. As per the deal Adidas Nepal will be the official jersey for Nepali national football team for two years. [break]The deal will be effective from March 1.
ANFA President Ganesh Thapa and Roots Fashion Managing Director Sanjiv Tuladhar signed the deal that amounts to about Rs 1.4 million.
The national team had no particular brand of jersey set, previously. The deal will now give uniformity to the team´s jersey for two years.
Being the official jersey partner of national football team, Roots Fashion will make available Adidas brand jersey sets, 40 track-suits as well as stockings to the national team for the AFC Challenge cup to begin from March 8. Similarly, by 2013 Roots Fashion will provide 200 pair of jersey sets and additional 40 track-suits.
In return, Adidas will be the official jersey of the national team and the national team shall wear Adidas jerseys in all international tournament it plays for the contract period. Similarly the other accessories to be used by national team including bags, track-suits, boots, and stockings must also be of Adidas brand.
Similarly, ANFA shall provide space for four boards during national and A division leagues and international tournament to be held in Nepal. Likewise, ANFA shall not have any sponsor or co-sponsorship deal with other companies similar to Adidas.
Speaking during the occasion, ANFA President Thapa said that, the debate regarding national team´s jersey was going on since the past. "We are very much excited regarding this cooperation. Now the national team can say that its official jersey sponsor is Adidas," Thapa said.
Roots Fashion Managing Director Tuladhar said that the cooperation with ANFA shall be beneficial in promoting its product.
