KATHMANDU, Feb 19: CPN-UML lawmaker Bhim Rawal has said that the act of tabling the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement at parliament is an insult to the Nepali people and the House of Representatives (HoR).
“The issue is related to Nepal's independence, sovereignty and right to self-determination. How can the agreement be tabled at parliament, when the main opposition CPN-UML is obstructing the House over the issue, and without reaching a consensus among the major political parties in the government?” asked lawmaker Rawal.

“Does this country run under a lawful manner or under the threat of a foreign power? In some countries, such parliamentary decisions have erased the country's borders. MCC being tabled at parliament is offensive and an insult to the independence and sovereignty of Nepali people and parliament itself,” Rawal added.
