According to Chief District Officer Sambhu Prasad Adhikari, Rukumkot VDC-based AAO that was displaced to the district headquarters Khalanga will be restored on October 28.[break]
The decision to this effect was made after holding talks with the representatives of political parties, chiefs of security agencies and other concerned people in the district.
Following displacement of the office, people from east Rukum had to walk for four days to reach the district headquarters to obtain citizenship certificates, passports and other recommendations. Residents of more than a dozen VDCs in eastern part of this district will benefit from the office´s restoration.
