KATHMANDU, May 3: Constituent Assembly (CA) member and Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa has demanded with the government to deploy one minister each in every quake-hit district so as to make the relief and rescue operation and its management more effective.

Issuing a press statement Saturday, leader Thapa has drawn the attention of Prime Minister and his party President Mr Sushil Koirala towards making public the details of the relief, rescue and aid received and distributed on a daily basis for the information of the public.

Leader Thapa has also suggested the government to expand the capacity of the National Re-Construction Fund from the proposed Rs 200 billion to Rs 1,000 billion.

According to leader Thapa, more than 300,000 quake-hit people are in dire need of tarpaulin sheets whereas only 24,000 survivors have received it so far. RSS
