BIRGUNJ, August 1: Visitors are facing problems in lack of sufficient number of public toilets in Birgunj Metropolitan City.

Although 18 wards of the Metropolitan City have been declared as open defecation free area, there are not sufficient numbers of public toilets in the metropolitan city area.

People coming to Birgunj Metropolitan City are compelled to answer nature's calla in open places in lack of sufficient number of public toilets.

In view of this situation, the metropolitan city has launched 'one house, one toilet' campaign. There are 23 public toilets in the metropolis but they are not sufficient.

Similarly, out of 29,500 households in Metropolitan City, 28 thousand 224 houses have toilets. Engineer at Town-level Drinking Water, Sanitation and Cleanliness Coordination Committee, Sunil Kumar Karna, said that they are providing 'hygiene card' to the house with toilet.

Karna said that the house having toilet are getting facilities of electricity and drinking water while houses without toilets are devoid of such facilities. RSS
