Deuba and Paudel register their candidacies for PP leader

KATHMANDU, April 5: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deudba and leader Ram Chandra Paudel have registered their candidacies for the post of Parliamentary Party (PP) leader in an election slated for Wednesday.



According to Bhanu Deuba, personal secretary of Deuba, the latter registered his candidacy at 11 am today. Similarly, the personal aide of Ram Chandra Paudel Chiranjibi Adhikari said Paudel registered his candidacy at the same time.

Pharmullah Mansur proposed Deuba's name for the post which was seconded by Padma Narayan Chaudhary. Chaudhary was a candidate for the post of Central Committee member in the recently held general convention from Paudel panel.

Similarly, Prakash Man Singh proposed Paudel's name which was seconded by NC General Secretary Shashanka Koirala.

After registering his candidacy, Deuba said he has filed his candidacy to unite and consolidate the party.

Similarly, Paudel said he has filed his candidacy to maintain unity and democratic norms and values within the party.


The NC amended its PP statute in line with the new constitution. A Central Committee (CC) meeting of the party held in new Baneshwor yesterday amended its PP statute (with amendments 2065) yesterday.
