In a press statement today, the Front said the voices of protesting groups could not be addressed if the bill was approved as it is. An approval of the bill without any change in it would exclude the voices of Madhesi, indigenous nationalities, Tharus, Muslim and Dalits, the statement adds.
The UDMF said that passing of the bill in the present form would not be acceptable.
Accusing the government of not becoming serious towards its demands despite frequent bilateral meetings, the Front argued that its 25 rounds of formal and informal talks with the government failed to produce any outcome as the government lacked a clear vision regarding the agenda of the Madhesh.
At a press meet organised to unveil the decisions of UDMF meeting held in between January 6 to 8 in the capital, Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Chair Upendra Yadav accused the government of taking action against the Madhes-based media houses and government employees just because they supported the Madhes agitation.
