KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Community and private higher secondary schools have remained closed all across the nation at the call of All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) for the third day on Tuesday.

Protesting high fees of higher secondary schools, the student union has called the closure of private higher secondary-level academic institutions from Sept. 13.

As a part of its protest, ANNISU-R has also closed community-owned secondary schools from Tuesday.

The shutdown, according to ANNISU-R, has been called to pile pressure on the Higher Secondary Education Board to implement its 13-point demands.

ANNISU-R TU committee coordinator Jakendra Shrestha said they have come up with the demands to make higher education more effective. We want high fees being charged by higher secondary schools be controlled and the demands be implemented, he said.
