The bus (Ko 1 Kha 1703), heading for Dharan from Mudeshanisare of Sankhuwasabha, fell about 100 meters from the road due to brake failure, District Police Office Dhankuta said.
Among the injured, Yamkala Rai of Itahari and Sher Bahadur Bhandari of Myanglung, Tehrathum are in critical condition.
Other injured include Surya Bahadur Tamang and Surendra Basnet of Belahara, Dhankuta; Sher Bahadur Limbu and Shamsher Limbu of Budhi Morang, Dhankuta; Artis Rai of Chhintang; Nitesh Jimmy, Ajay Gurung and Bishnu Kumar Bhattarai of Sankhuwasabha; Pratik Pradhan of Tehrathum; Smita Gurung of Dharan, and Sushil Ghimire of Sarlahi, police said.
The injured are undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Dhankuta. The bus driver is absconding, police said.
