Speaking to Republica, party Spokesperson Govinda Sah said, “Our party Chairperson Giri ended her hunger strike on Tuesday.”

Sah further said that the report approved by the Constituency Delineation Commission (CDC) on Monday was biased. “We will mark September 2 as a black day every year,” said Sah. “We want representation on the basis of population,” he said, adding that their demands were reasonable.
Asked about the achievement of hunger strike, Sah said, “Our demands have not been met but this has made it clear that our demands were ignored out of ill intension.” Sah also accused other Madhes-based parties of working against the interests of Madhes.
Giri was on hunger strike since August 13 in the capital demanding a review of the number of election constituencies for the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections.
