KATHMANDU, June 15: Gyani BK, a Dalit woman of Namobuddha Municipality-11 of Kavrepalanchok, died after being severely beaten by her husband.
In a domestic dispute, her husband Shambhu BK beat her on June 12. According to police sources, she died during treatment at Dhulikhel Hospital.

The doctors at the hospital had to carry out a surgery after she was found to have a blood clot in her brain.
The police have held Shambhu BK on the charge of beating his wife to death.
Gyani was also elected as a Dalit female ward member in the local election.
