Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, NC President Sushil Koiralal, UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal and UDMF Co-ordinator Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, who reached Shital Niwas for discussion, informed president that they could not forge consensus so far on various issues including the new budget.[break]
President Yadav had invited top leaders for discussion this morning. During the meeting, the top leaders of the main parties reiterated their earlier stances on the issues.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Gachchhadar ruled out any possibility of the bringing in the full-fledged budget for the time being. He, however, said that no full-fledged budget would be brought without political consensus.
Speaking to journalists, Dahal acknowledged that the political parties have so far failed to reach an understanding on various issues including the budget, during the meeting.
“I put forth my opinion before the president that the new budget could be brought in line with the programs and policies of the last year’s budget presented by the-then finance minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari,” said Dahal.
Also speaking to reporters, NC President Koirala informed that he reiterated his party’s stance during the meeting.
UML Chairman Khanal stressed on the need of formation of a consensus government to conduct the new elections.
