RASUWA, Nov 1: Authorities are in the final stages of revising the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Mailung-Syabrubesi road which connects Nepal with China via Rasuwagadhi international trade route.
The revision is likely to be completed within a month -- December 1, informed the office of Galchhi-Trishuli-Mailung-Syabrubesi-Rasuwagadhi Road Project.
“The DPR had to be revised after around dozens of roads within the project sustained additional damage during the monsoon,” informed the project Chief Subodh Kumar Devkota. “We will initiate tender process immediately after the DPR is revised,” he added.
Originally, the DPR was finalized in mid-July and the project was preparing to initiate tender process in August.
Nepal Army had begun construction of Mailung-Syabrubesi road in April 2015 and handed over the work to the project in March of this year. The project office has the responsibility of upgrading the newly-constructed road section within two years.
The Mailung-Shyabrubesi road to China is 25 kilometers shorter than the existing Betrawati-Kalikasthan-Dhunche- Syabrubesi road. The road to Syabru via Betrawati-Kalikasthan-Dhunche is 54 kilometers.
