5.5-magnitude tremor jolts country this morning

KATHMANDU, May 15: A tremor measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale with its epicenter in Dhading jolted the country at 7.27 am on Friday, said the National Seismological Centre.

The tremor was felt more as the aftershock hit the area nearby the capital city, Kathmandu, said Center's Chief Lok Bijaya Adhikari.


Today's shock is so far the powerful one following the May 12 quake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale with epicenter in Dolakha. Earlier, magnitude-5.0 aftershock hit the country in the area of Kavrepalanchowk on Thursday. RSS
