KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Traffic movement has resumed following Youth Association Nepal (YAN)´s four-hour chakkajam in the capital for a second straight day Monday spanning 6 am to 10 am in the morning.
Schoolchildren, college students and office goers seem to be the most affected lot during the strike. Earlier, pedestrians were seen walking, with no public and private vehicles allowed on the road. [break]
Security personnel were deployed at major junctures along the road.
YAN, the youth wing of CPN-UML, has called chakkajam starting Sunday with its stated aim of toppling the Baburam Bhattarai government.
The youth body has called a similar protest at the same time for Tuesday and Wednesday as well. YAN cadres have also been taking out torch rallies in evenings during strike days.
