As part of its protest, NNPA will submit memorandum to the president, foreign minister and political leaders. Similarly, it has also decided to file a writ petition demanding ratification of the Convention on Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents, 1961.

Also, NNPA will draw attention of the chief secretary regarding implementation of Notary Public Act, 2063 BS. "If our concerns are not addressed, the government will be responsible for the consequences," Basnet stated. He accused officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of trying to earn extra money by translating and attesting documents.

According to NNPA, altogether 102 private notaries have been involved in translation works.

The government´s Law Books Management Committee has also been translating official government documents for the last 48 years.
