The festival which starts from June 5, which is also World Environment Day, will end with a concert, which will be open to the public.

To start the festival and celebrate World Environment Day, recycling competition is being held in schools both inside and outside the Kathmandu Valley. For the next four months, students will learn about using recycling and its importance.

After 2010, this is the second time Alliance Française has organized the festival and the objective of awareness of environmental issues through various forms of artistic expression will be the same as before.

However this year, the added objective is to spread awareness among local people, especially the youth, about the importance of the future of energy and the need to find alternatives.

Throughout the Festival, knowledge and awareness will be spread through various activities, such as conferences, screenings of documentaries, scientific exhibitions and performances where artists like Soazic Guezennec and Karl Knapp will be present.
