The three day festival will include scientific roundtable discussions, documentary screenings, photo exhibitions, showcasing of art installations by various Nepali and French artists, followed by musical concerts, according to organizers.
Speaking on the occasion, the French Ambassador to Nepal, Jean-Charles Demarquis, mentioned that this was the biggest festival being organized by the French Embassy in Nepal.
He said, “The festival is an outcome of the failure of the Copenhagen Climate Conference 2009.” It aims to raise the issue of climate change through various acts. Artists performing at the event also shared their experiences of working on their respective projects. The event will officially open with light installations by Karl Knapp; performances by Salil Subedi and Lo’Jo, a French band.
The exposition of the “Rickshaw project” by Sujan Chitrakar and his group and photo exhibitions on climate change in the Khumbu region will also be showcased on the occasion.
Creative Arts Festival starts at NAFA
