DAV, which won the toss, invited the host to bat first at the Army School Ground, Bhaktapur. [break]Thames put up a mediocre score of 110 in 20 overs losing eight wickets. Eraj Shrestha scored 27 runs off 36 balls while Ojha scored 25 runs off 21 balls. Avinash Giri took three wickets for DAV.
Chasing the 111-run target, DAV was all out for 109 runs in 19.5 overs. Thames´ bowler Ojha claimed five wickets giving away just 11 runs in his 3.5 overs to rattle DAV.
DAV could not build up innings as Manu Subedi (19 runs), Rabindra Singh (18 runs), Santosh Dhami (17 runs) and Prakash Thapa (16 runs) failed to consolidate their innings. Thames´ Prakash Ojha was adjudged man-of-the-match.
Meanwhile, the second semifinal of the tournament between Kathford and Universal College, scheduled for Friday, washed out. The match has been rescheduled for Saturday.
