The two men carrying a gun and khukuri took the money from the institution´s accountant, Shanta GC, from the gate of the finance company . GC had brought the money to pay clients from the Bank of Kathmandu.
Police claim that the search efforts are being hampered due to the large protest gathering organized by the Maoists. According to office workers of the financial institution, the two men were masked and fled in a motorcycle devoid of a number plate.
While financial institutions of Nepalgunj were looted many times during the 10 year long armed struggle, this is the first time that a large amount has been looted after the end of the conflict.
