Heart center to be constructed in memory of GP Koirala

BIRATNAGAR, March 22: A heart disease hospital is going to be built at Babiyabirta VDC in Morang district in memory of former president of the Nepali Congress (NC), and former prime minister the late Girija Prasad Koirala.



It is said that construction works of the hospital will be forwarded from this year by the GP Koirala Foundation. It has been claimed that the hospital will be the first modern hospital in the eastern region where patients of heart disease of the region will be benefited after its construction. [break]



The Foundation has already purchased three bighas of land, and local industrialist and social worker Dilip Agrawal has provided seven bighas of land for the hospital.



According to Chairman of the Foundation, Sujata Koirala, initiatives have been taken with the Indian Embassy and other donor agencies for assistance to build the hospital.



Meanwhile, GP Koirala Foundation is going to construct its central office building on the land situated at Koirala residence in Biratnagar.



Chairman Koirala said materials used by Girija Prasad Koirala and other objects related with him will be kept after the construction of the building.
