The new generation Elantra has been priced at Rs 4.29 million. Initially, the sedan will be available in two colors - silver and sky blue.[break]
"The all new Elantra will stand out among other sedans in the market as it has attractive look and the company has upgraded power output, fuel efficiency, comfort and safety features,” said Abhishek Dhungana, marketing officer of Laxmi Intercontinental.
The new Elantra comes with Gamma 1.6 liter MPI D-CVVT engine that has been mated to six-speed manual transmission that delivers maximum power of 130 horsepower at 6300 rpm. It has lower emission while delivering best in class fuel economy. It has different features like dual auto air conditioner, tilt and telescopic steering and steering mounted stereo control, supervision cluster and foldable keyless entry with burglar alarm.

The luxurious sedan features height adjustable front seats, audio system with iPod, auxiliary and USB input ports, dual-airbag protection for the safety of driver and passengers safety while and anti-lock braking system (ABS).
"ABS prevents the possibility of wheel lock up under hard braking and rapidly pulses the brakes to help retain steering control while stopping the car," said Dhungana.
Elantra comes with rear parking assist which helps avoid accidents while parking the car. It has received 5-star safety rating from Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) for its safety performance and Top Safety Pick Awards by IIHS, USA, according to Laxmi Intercontinental.
Rupesh Sharma Bhatta, senior manger for planning and development at Laxmi Intercontinental, said they introduced the new generation Elantra to strengthen Hyundai´s presence in the C and D segments.
Hyundai had launched the first generation Elantra in 1990. The sedan has recorded cumulative worldwide sales of six million units so far.
“The new Elantra will compete with Toyota Corolla, Skoda Laura, Mazda 3, Kia Cerato and Volkswagen Jetta in the Nepali market,” Bhatta said.
