Nearly half a dozen CWC and PP members suggested the party consider a directly elected prime ministerial system to address the problem of political instability.
"The meeting has decided to stick to the party´s long-held stance on parliamentary system with an executive prime minister and ceremonial president elected by parliament," said NC CWC member and PP Spokesperson Nabindra Raj Joshi.
Almost all 16 CWC and PP members on Thursday rooted for parliamentary system, arguing the system is not bad but could not deliver as it was attacked from various quarters.
They suggested the party adopt measures to avoid frequent government changes, according to Joshi.
Some CWC and PP members suggested the party take a directly elected prime ministerial system as an alternative.
