Subhadra, the mother of the girl, Sushmita Acharya, went to the DAO with an application charging the teacher, Baijanti, with an attempt to murder, but was sent back without registering the case.[break]
Subhadra is now worried that the teacher would be let off without the punishment she deserves. According to her, she had appealed to the Morang Chief District Officer Taranath Gautam six days ago to initiate the process to interrogate the teacher and take action against her. However, she has been informed that the complaint has not been registered yet.
“The application I had handed over to the CDO himself six days ago has not been registered yet,” Subhadra said.
CDO Gautam has defended himself saying registering application at the DAO would not be of much help in the case. “Our interrogation does not make difference,” Gautam said.
Sushmita is still undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital.
