Complaint about presence of urea in sugar draws DAO attention

KHOTANG, April 16: Complaint about the supply of adulterated sugar from a shop based in Diktel has prompted the District Administration Office, Khotang to probe the matter.

KHOTANG, April 16: Complaint about the supply of adulterated sugar from a shop based in Diktel has prompted the District Administration Office, Khotang to probe the matter. 


The Janaki General Order and Supplies has been accused of supplying sugar containing urea fertilizer.

Following the complaint from consumers, the office Friday sealed the shop and its warehouse. The shop proprietor was summoned to the office to grill about the alleged charge. According to Officiating Chief District Officer, Santosh Subedi, if the accused is proved guilty, action will be taken as per the existing laws. 


During the interrogation, the shop proprietor said he had brought sugar supposed to be adulterated from Katarai of Udaypur two weeks ago.(RSS)
