MYAGDI, Aug 7: As many as 38 people died due to natural disasters like landslides, floods, thunder strikes, electric shocks and fire in Myagdi district in a year.
On July 10, 19 individuals of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-6 and eight of Malika-7 died in landslides and floods. And 12 sustained severe injuries and four went missing in the same incident.
In the last one year period, 34 died due to floods and landslides, two each due to thunder strikes and electric shocks and one due to fire disaster, in the district.
As of the last five years, 47 people died, 79 sustained injuries and 12 went missing due to natural disasters in Myagdi.
