Peace not possible with politics of weapons: President

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 15: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said that peace would not be possible until the end of politics of weapons.



“Peace, prosperity and democracy cannot move ahead until the politics of weapons is ended,” the President said addressing the Morang Trade Association on Tuesday.[break]



President Yadav added that peace would bring stability to the country and opined that he is aware of his responsibilities towards the nation.



The President said that peace and democracy would put the nation on the right track. “The nation needs peace and stability,” he said.



Earlier, President Yadav offered puja at the Halesi Mahadev Temple in Khotang.



He reached the famous pilgrimage in an army helicopter. According to a priest, President Yadav prayed at the temple wishing for peace and an end to the current political deadlock.



The President also talked to locals during the visit.
