Rabindra Man Shrestha finished as second runner-up in the tournament with the score of two over par, 74. Altogether 26 golfers took part in the tournament. President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners. Nine medal-rounds have already been played and two more event will be played until the month of November. Winners, runners-up and second runners-up, who have taken part in minimum of six events, will qualify to play for the gold medal event to be played in December.
Bagmati, National in final
KATHMANDU: Host Bagmati Modern College and defending champion National on Saturday advanced into the boys’ final of Second Bagmati Inter-college Bagmati Basketball Tournament. During the match held at Bagmati College court, the host edged past Golden Gate A 58-41. Tajendra Gurung emerged the hero for Bagmati as he contributed the highest 15 points.
In another match, National saw off White House 49-36 riding on 16 points of Bikash Gurung. In the girls’ section, defending champion NASA and Morgan had set up a title clash. NASA thrashed Bagmati 32-6. Samikshya Neupane and Rohini Limbu contributed eight points apiece for the winning side. Similarly, Morgan saw off Bernhardt 26-11. Samichin Bista contributed 17 points for Morgan.
Open FIDE rating chess tournament next week
KATHMANDU: Dhurbatara Sporting Club is set to organize Dhurbatara Cup Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament from September 19. Altogether 70 players from Nepal and India will participate in the six-day tournament. The winner of the tournament will get Rs 15,000. The tournament will be played in Swiss league of 10 rounds.
