Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd Management committee member of Indian Tobacco Company (ITC) Pvt Ltd V Srinivasan gave away the prizes to the winners. After the second edition, TG Shrestha and Sonam Ongdi Lama are on top with 100 points each while Brian Fawcett and Ang Dorjee Sherpa are joint third.
Joseph Nathan, Nirakar Shrestha and Keith Harrison share the fifth position. Rekha Ghimire and Dipendra Tandon are tied for eighth and Tashi Ghale is in the 10th spot.
Bajracharya wins gold
KATHMANDU: Samrakshak Bhusan Bajracharya claimed gold in the U-12 boys´ singles category in the Fifth Kesha Group-JTI Junior Open Tennis Tournament on Saturday. Bajracharya edged past Pranab Khanal 6-1, 7-5 in the final at the Satdobato Tennis Complex, Lalitpur.
Anne Mathema registered a comprehensive 6-1, 6-0 win over Ira Rawat to claim the U-12 girls´ singles title while Saksham Karki struggled past Samrakshak Bhusan Bajracharya 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 to claim gold in the U-14 boys´ singles final.
However, Karki´s hopes of securing a second gold suffered a blow as he lost the final of the U-16 boys´ singles to Aavash Malla 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.
Bibhuti Karki won the U-16 girls´ singles title defeating Bijisha Shrestha 6-3, 7-5 in the final.
Meanwhile, Aditya Subedi defeated Aki Juben Rawat 8-6 to win gold in the U-9 boys´ singles section.
