KATHMANDU, Dec 6: The number of Nepalis succumbing to the coronavirus infection in several countries across the world has surpassed 300 as of last Saturday, according to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
With two more Nepalis --one each in Germany and India-- who died from the flu-like infection last week, the worldwide death toll of Nepali people has reached 301, shared NRNA’s s health committee.

Germany reported the first death of a Nepali national from the virus there, said NRNA’s COVID-19 High-Level Committee coordinator Chiran Sharma.
According to the Health Committee‘s coordinator Dr Sanjeev Sapkota, more Nepalis have been reported to have contracted the deadly infection this week in Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Portugal and India.
As of Saturday evening, the total COVID-19 cases among the Nepalis in 20 countries had reached 48,639 while 44,671 infected ones have gained recovery.
