300 households of Khagenkot living under darkness

JAJARKOT, Nov 24: The dream of more than 300 households of Khagenkot-5 and 6 in the district to illuminate their houses have not been fulfilled yet for lack of budget to buy electric poles.

JAJARKOT, Nov 24: The dream of more than 300 households of Khagenkot-5 and 6 in the district to illuminate their houses have not been fulfilled yet for lack of budget to buy electric poles. 


Although 13 KW electricity generated from Khamaure rivulet has gone wastage, they have been compelled to live in darkness.

The areas have majority of Dalit Communities. The locals demanded electric poles with the District Development Committee time and again, but in vain. The locals also demanded with the then Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi for the same. 


A local Ram Prasad Khatri said, "We are in problem after around Rs 3.2 million is required for transmitter, electric wire and poles to get power supply. No one is ready to help us." RSS
