PALPA, Aug 13: The District Sports Development Committee, Palpa, has honored 300 athletes and two journalists on the occasion of the International Youth Day. 

At a program organized by the Committee here on Friday, former Minister for Youth and Sports, Purushottam Poudel, former Minister for Industry, Som Prasad Pandey, and Committee Chairperson Karuna Kafle, honoured them with cash, medal and certificate. 

The Committee also honored journalists—Krishna Pokharel and Dev Pachbhaiya, with Rs 5,000 and a letter of felicitation for their contribution in sports sector through journalism. 

The Committee honored all old and new players so far from 2030 BS. 

Of the athletes, 250 are medal winners in national competition while the remaining 50 players had participated in international sports competition. This is the first time, the Committee had honored the such high number of athletes at the same time. RSS
