KATHMANDU, Dec 1: Chure River System Conservation Journalists Society (CRSCJS) has honored five journalists for their outstanding contribution for the conservation of Chure through dissemination of news.
Five journalists, including three working for the Nagarik Daily, a sister publication of Republica Daily, were honored in a program organized by the CRSCJS in Bardibas, Mahottari.
CRSCJS President Anil Kumar Karn informed that journalists Subodh Gautam, Mithilesh Yadav, Devendra Basnet from Nagarik Daily, Santosh Singh from Kantipur Daily and young journalist Bishal Dahal were honored.
President Karna said that with the award the contribution made by the journalists using the pen to alert the general public and draw the attention of the government against the illegal and unchecked extraction of river products from the Chure River was honored.
Chure expert Dr Vijay Singh, former Minister of State for Forest and Environment of Madhesh Province Suresh Kumar Mandal and others were present in program.
