The dead has been identified as Bijaya Karki of Katari-4 and his head was found buried under sand just 60 meters south from the spot where his body was found Friday afternoon. [break]
Loclas said Karki, around 45, had been missing since Wednesday when he left home for Sindhuli. His motorcycle has been missing and the family sources informed his cell phone is switched off. The body was unearthed after his hands were detected in the sand when two oxen fought on the beach.
Police said there are seven cut wounds on the body with injuries even on the decapitated head. Police had intensified the search for the head after the body was found.
The confirmation of Karki´s death has left his family members devastated with wife Binda yet to regain consciousness. The inspector with the Area Police Office Anil Poudel said getting information has been difficult as the family members are not in a condition to speak.
The couple has one 30-month-old son and a daughter, who studies in 11th grade in Kathmandu has yet to arrive. “Investigation has been hampered as we have yet to ascertain why he left the house and whom he intended to meet,” Poudel added.
Hailing from Portaha, Godar, Karki was staying in the in-laws´ village for the past five years. Karki, who returned from foreign employment five years ago, was running a grocery store, owned a tractor and was a petty contractor.
