KATHMANDU, April 7: Two independent members of parliament from the Tarai will join the Tarai Madhes Democratic Party after the Constituent Assembly by-elections on April 10, said a senior leader of the party on Tuesday.

"We are eagerly waiting for parliamentarians Babban Singh and Sadrul Miya Haq to join our party," TMDP leader Hridayesh Tripathi told myrepublica.com in the parliament premises on Tuesday, when asked to respond to reports that Singh, from Rautaht-1, had joined the party. "They will join us after the CA by-elections." Haq represents Saptari-5. With the two MPs joining the party, its strength in the 601-member CA will be 24.
