Starting from Sunday, March 13, a weekly screening of documentaries and films is being held at Rato Ghar, Ravi Bhawan, Kathmandu throughout the year.[break]
“Rato Ghar Documentaries and Films Show” will kick off with the screening of “Karnali People’s Conscious,” a 22-minute documentary by Ritu Raj Sapkota.
A press statement issued by the organization mentions that their main agenda is to generate critical debates on cinema by providing a platform to discuss films.
Through weekly screenings, the group hopes to create a film-savvy mass that not only enjoys watching but believes in their power of social change.

“We are just a bunch of film enthusiasts who want to initiate film discussions. The main attraction of the screenings will be the discussions after the screening among filmmakers and the audience who attend the event,” said Birkha Pun, one of the organizers.
A contribution of Rs 20 is expected from each visitor to the event. Students are entitled to get 50% off (Rs 10) per screening.
The show will begin every Sunday at 4 pm sharp.
