MALEKHU, Aug 19: A total of 26 passengers were injured in a passenger bus accident near Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-9, Hugdikhola under Prithvi highway.


The bus with the registration number BA 03-001 KHA 2675 en route to Kathmandu from Tulsipur Dang lost control this morning and overturned onto the right side of the road at around 5AM.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Dhading Santulal Prasad Jaiswar said that five people who were injured in the accident have been sent to Kathmandu for medical treatment. The other injured are being treated at Malekhu Highway Hospital and nearby health institutions.


According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaiswar, the injured Rajendra Pun, 24, of Salyan Sabeshwari-3, his son Ashish KC, 6, and Man Bahadur Khadka, 50, of Baghchaur Municipality-10, Salyan district, are in critical condition. After the accident, the police and local residents rescued them.
