The event to be participated by corporate houses, banks, financial institutions, hospitality industry, NGOs, INGOs, media houses and others will be held from December 5 to 10 at Hotel Radisson.[break]
According to the organizers, the entry fee for one member from a corporate house is Rs 4,000 while three members of the same corporate house can register by paying Rs 10,000.
The organizers expect that the competition will create ample excitement among corporate enthusiasts to enjoy and showcase their sporting talent.
Basketball match for differently-abled
POKHARA: Basketball tournament for the differently abled will be held for the first time in Nepal after two weeks. Himchuli Wheel Chair Basketball, a national level competition for the differently abled is set to take place in Pokhara on December 10 and 11.
The Differently Abled Sports Association is organizing the tournament with the aim of encouraging their participation in sports as well as for their physical and mental development. Six teams from Kathmandu and Pokhara under men´s and women´s category will compete in the event using their wheel chairs.
The winning team will bag a purse of Rs 10,000 and the runners-up will receive Rs 7,000. The event that runs with the banner ´Sports for the differently abled´ is sponsored by Himchuli Development Bank.
Greenland thrash Minar
KATHMANDU: Greenland thrashed Minar 90-12 during the Eighth Akira TIA Cup Inter-school Basketball Tournament in the boys´ category on Tuesday. Manish Shrestha scored 40 points for the winners in the rout of Minar at the court of Trungram International Academy (TIA), Hattigauda.
The hosts TIA ´A´ edged out New Summit 54-48 riding on 20 points of Ashish Shahi. In another match, Daffodil outplayed Swapnavatika to register a comprehensive 60-17 victory. In other matches, VS Niketan and Golden Peak struggled to win their respective matches.
VS Niketan squeezed past Srijansheel 24-21 while Golden Peak edged past Valley Public 35-30.
