KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Police have arrested MK Kumar, 22, originally from Simraungadh Municipality-7 in Bara and currently residing in Kathmandu, in connection with the murder of Rupak Bantawa Rai, a snooker club operator at 'The Time Pass Snooker' in Shankhamul, Kathmandu.
The District Police Range, Kathmandu, apprehended Kumar, who is accused of killing Rai due to personal enmity. The accused lived in a rented room near the crime scene. Kumar, who was staying in a rented house at Saibaba Park in Shankhamul, told police that the deceased Bantawa was responsible for his father being in jail.

At around 2 AM on Monday, Rupak Rai was found severely injured on the sofa of his own snack and snooker house. He had sustained a fatal head injury from a sharp weapon. Despite being rushed to Civil Hospital, he was declared dead by doctors at 2:30 AM.
Police recovered the rod used in the incident from Kumar's rented room in Shankhamul. Additionally, they found Rai's purse, glasses, bag, and clothes there.
Police investigation officials said that MK Kumar committed the murder after drinking alcohol with the victim and another person, then beat him up indiscriminately, bringing up past issues.
