According Ram Bahadur Karki, chief of Rukumeli Energy Development Consumers Committee, around 40, 000 people in several VDCs including Kalanga, Rukumkot, Pokhata, Banfikot, Chiwang and Peepal have been affected as a result. The 240 kilowatt Banfikot Electricity Project is run by the locals.
People who came from villages to collect remittances sent by relatives from abroad had to return empty handed as the internet service also has been disrupted due to lack of power supply.
