1st NC CWC meeting on Oct 28

KATHMANDU, Oct 23: The first meeting of the newly-elected Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee has been scheduled for October 28.



Earlier, an informal meeting of the party´s newly elected office bearers in the capital had decided to hold the first meeting after the party´s 12th general convention on October 29 saying that it would take time for the CWC members to arrive in the capital after celebrating Dashain.



According to NC´s Chief Secretary Ram Chandra Pokharel, the meeting has been rescheduled for October 28 as all CWC members will arrive in Kathmandu by the time. The meeting will discuss various crucial issues, including the current political deadlock over the prime ministerial election, among others.



It is learnt that the issue of nominating vice president, general secretary, joint general secretary and 16 CWC members will also surface in the first meeting. As per the party´s statute, the names floated by the party president needs to be endorsed by the CWC.



The 12th general convention has already elected the president, general secretary and the treasurer.
