A meeting of the 18 political parties held at the central office of the CPN-Maoist at Buddhanagar in Kathmandu on Thursday objected to the formation of the government despite the disapproval of the significant number of political parties, and escaping away from the case under consideration at the Supreme Court.[break]
The meeting also concluded that the act of the four parties to amend 25 articles of the interim constitution in the name of removing difficulties was ´unconstitutional´, according to Maoist Secretary Dev Gurung.
The parties will meet on Friday and finalize more programs of protest, he said.
Along with the CPN-Maoist, the 18 parties include among others the CPN-ML, CPN (Unified), Rastriya Janamorcha, CPN (United), the Social Democratic Party and Nepa: party.
Meanwhile, the agitating 11 students unions have released their second round of protest programmes against the decision of the government to hike public transport fare.
The protest programs to be held between March 15 to 22 includes corner meetings at educational institutions, sit-in before the TU Central Office calling for immediate FSU elections, stopping government vehicles from plying in front of the educational institutions and padlocking central, regional and district officers of the transport entrepreneurs´ associations, according to ANNFSU Secretary Rachana Khadka.
